In November 2000, Michelle Renee, a bank manager in Vista, California, and her 7-year-old daughter Breea were held hostage in their home by armed kidnappers. The assailants strapped what appeared to be dynamite to their bodies and coerced Michelle into robbing her own bank to secure their release. After the robbery, Michelle was left alone in her car, still wearing the fake explosives. She returned home to find Breea and their roommate unharmed. The kidnappers were later apprehended, and Michelle's identification of one of them played a crucial role in solving the case.
